I am a bioinformatician interested in statistical genetics methodologies. I study how genome-wide association mapping can be used to understand the genetics underlying physical traits in model organisms. My current research focuses on mapping starvation survival in C. elegans, and the adjustments necessary to increase mapping accuracy and capacity.
In my spare time, I'm also a deputy editor at GeneBites, a blog with bite-sized articles about current genetics research. I use my Substack, Let's Be Blount, for all my other writing.Â
