James Marrone
Associate Economist, RAND Corporation
I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in human capital/labor, preference formation, and markets for cultural goods. As of spring 2019 I am also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins SAIS.
My research uses both theory and a variety of empirical methods to conduct causal inference with non-experimental data. Topics include: assimilation patterns, predictors of violent extremism, economic health of vulnerable populations, damage to cultural heritage in disaster and conflict zones, and other phenomena.
This page contains links to papers, data, online appendices, and other supplementary material for my personal research, as well as teaching materials from past courses. My RAND website contains more information on RAND-related work: see here.
