I am James Hyde, an Assistant Professor at the Binghamton University. Until 2024 I was a postdoc at Copenhagen University with Magdalena Musat.  Before which I was a postdoc at Cornell with Justin Moore.  I got my PhD at the University of St Andrews under Collin Bleak and Nik Ruskuc.

I mainly study infinite groups.  I am interested in groups of homeomorphisms, finite generation, finite presentation, simplicity and orderability.  See my CV for links to my papers.
