With extensive access to the birding community and experience leading a team of field workers on some large solar projects I also offer a nationwide resource management service for consultancies requiring highly experienced bird surveyors (usually with more than 10 years' experience watching birds and trained by ear as well as sight) to gather and record data from the field. It is important on surveys that less obvious or elusive species are not overlooked as often happens when consultancies send out surveyors less experienced with detecting birds in the field. A marsh warbler for example (protected under Schedule One of the Wildlife & Countryside Act) is highly elusive and looks virtually identical to the much commoner Reed warbler, best separated by its song. Only experienced surveyors will detect such a species on site!

This service ensures suitable surveyors are deployed to sites to gather exactly what is needed when it is needed and can use their expertise in some situations to flag up for example, whether a crop may be too high or short for nesting Skylarks . Data is quality checked and queried where necessary, and entered onto spreadsheets if required. Written summaries of findings may be provided as part of a limited report writing service. Teams can be assembled at short notice where required, so get in touch if you need help.
