Katie Hazelton is a 2009 graduate of Bob Jones High School and was a three year member of both the BJ Color Guard and Winter Guard. She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama.

She started working with the JCHS Guard Program in 2012 with the inception of JCHS under the direction of Mrs. Kendra Harper. Duties those first two year included helping with anything needed during summer band camp. She started working full time with the guard program in the spring of 2014 with the 2014 winter guard. From there, her duties have expanded to now working as head guard instructor as of April 2016.

Shelby Treadway began serving as Color Guard Sponsor in 2025, bringing with her years of performance experience and a deep passion for the activity. She is a 2013 Pelham High School graduate and performed with the Color Guard and Winter Guard programs. She continued her guard experience at Auburn University as a member of the Auburn Tiger Eyes Flag Line.

Mrs. Treadway holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Auburn University and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Biology. As both an educator and sponsor, she is committed to fostering a positive, structured, and encouraging team environment. She is dedicated to helping students grow in confidence as performers while also developing valuable life skills such as responsibility, perseverance, leadership, and teamwork that will serve them well beyond their time in color guard.

Ms. Samantha graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Samantha has been teaching dance for over 15 years in the Huntsville and the Shoals. Her work has earned multiple first place, overall, and judges choice awards at regional dance competitions.

She is excited to be a part of the James Clemens Auxiliary family!
