I am currently a Ph.D. student co-advised by Prof. Guoqiang Yu and Prof. Yue (Joseph) Wang in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Virginia Tech. Starting from Spring 2024, I have been visiting the Waitt Advanced Biophotonics Center at Salk Institute for Biological Studies, and I am advised by Prof. Axel Nimmerjahn.
Prior to joining Virginia Tech, I obtained my master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics (with a focus on operations research) from Johns Hopkins University. I have been a recipient of the Outstanding Master's Research Award given by the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics and I was honored to be advised by Prof. James C. Spall and Prof. John C. Wierman. Prior to Johns Hopkins, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Decision Analytics from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science in the University of Hong Kong with a second-class honor (division one) and I was honored to be advised by Prof. Ka Chun Cheung and Prof. Phillip Yam.
I was born in Wuhan and had lived there for 18 years before I went to Hong Kong for undergrad. I can speak Mandarin, English, Wuhan dialect, and a little bit Cantonese.
I am always actively looking for the sweet point between theory and practice.
