I took the time to understand the core for the 12 Principles of Animation in order to apply them to some character animations to make more fluid movements..
Beside this was a prototype I worked on for a ball animation, a practice before applying these tricks to full on characters, using pacing, slow in and slow out, and of course squash and stretch.
To optimise my animations, each limb was worked on with it's own layer, using colours on the limbs to signify which joint was which in motion.

All research performed got complied onto this page.
This project was where I learned the key skills behind the 12 Principles of Animation, which allowed me to improve my pixel art to be more fluid and resemble realistic character movements. Now that I have said experience applying them onto primitive designs, those skills can be transfered to make fully fledged characters that can be used in full 2D games.
This also led me to learning about optimal frame rates in animations and how frame speed worked inside Aseprite, meaning I can set the speed about as fast as I want for what people need.
