I was born and raised in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, UK and attended Hitchin Boys' School.
In 2012 I was accepted by University of Leeds where I went on to complete an MPHYS degree in Physics with Astrophysics. I completed my final thesis with Prof Melvin Hoare on VLA observations of ultracompact HII regions and won the department's Bolton Prize in astrophysics for my work.
In 2016 I began my PhD with Dr Olja Panić studying protoplanetary discs around Herbig Ae/Be stars. Here I mainly used ALMA observations and radiative transfer modelling to study the planet formation environment around young intermediate mass stars, and defended my thesis in 2020.
In late 2020 I moved to Santiago, Chile as an ALMA postdoctoral fellow affiliated with NAOJ as a project scientist. Here I split my time between scientific research and observatory responsibilities. My research continues to focus on planet formation through observation and analysis of protoplanetary and debris discs, usually with ALMA. For the observatory I work with the Department of Science Operations to assist with the preparation of, execution and calibration of ALMA's standard and VLBI observations, including responsibilities as astronomer on duty taking observations on site and remotely.
From October 2023 I am a YEMS postdoctoral researcher at Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Here I continue my research as part of the Millenium Nucleus for Young Exoplanets and their Moons (YEMS).
