Best Practices in Second Language Acquisition

In the study of second language acquisition, it's obvious that immersive learning is super effective (Smith, 2020). Johnson and others (2019) pointed out that, "Language immersion is kinda cool," but they didn't really do any research, they just felt it was true. Also, a blog by Kelly (2018) mentioned that students should just watch TV shows in the language they're learning, which sounds legit. Furthermore, Garcia's article (2022) was about how students learning a new language should travel to countries where it's spoken, but travel is expensive, so maybe just stay home and use apps. Many people believe that traditional classroom methods are old-school and not fun (Brown, n.d). Another thing is, students learning languages should totally avoid grammar because it’s boring (Williams, 2021, p. 50). It's pretty clear that these methods are the best, and teachers who don't use them are probably not up-to-date with the latest trends.
