Gunjan Menon
Gunjan Menon is an independent natural history filmmaker and writer from India.
She is a National Geographic Explorer and focuses on conservation and human interest stories and has won multiple accolades with over 35 International awards and nominations across 14 countries so far for her work. Gunjan holds an MA in Wildlife Filmmaking from the University of West of England, Bristol. Her keen interest in anthropology and endangered species took her to Nepal in 2017. She trekked 12,000 feet in the Eastern Himalayas to capture the unique bond shared between an indigenous woman and wild Red Pandas in her first independent short film, ’The Firefox Guardian’. The film is critically acclaimed and was shortlisted for a student BAFTA award. It now travels to various film festivals, schools and colleges across the world, has successfully started a dialogue on ecofeminism, and continues to raise funds for red panda conservation.
Jahkil Jackson
Project I Am, a non-profit organization , was created by a 8 year old Jahkil, now 13, has a heartfelt desire to help those in need. After helping his aunt distribute food to the Chicago homeless, he knew that he wanted to do more to make a difference.
It quickly became Jahkil’s mission to build awareness of homelessness and to help the homeless population by offering them what he calls “Blessing Bags,” a giveaway filled with wipes, socks, deodorant, hand sanitizer, granola bars, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bottled water, and more.Jahkil Jackson has set and surpassed many goals in his young life. Distributing his Blessing Bags to the homeless has been one of his biggest achievements thus far. In just a few years, Jahkil’s efforts have impacted 50,000 men, women and children across the world. Along with the help of friends and family, Jahkil has organized distribution to those in need in Chicago, Los Angeles, Oklahoma, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Virginia and Idaho.
Thoughtful Minds Organization
8 year old twins Amaira sara and Anaira zara are the young minds behind “Thoughtful Minds Organization”. These two young kidpreneurs believe that “ Being thoughtful is fun, it only needs to be rightly done.” They have collaborated with 17 kidpreneurs and youth icons and curated a musical campaign “Collaborate To Inspire” which has been applauded all over social media and reshared by many SDG organizations on social media.
Akanksha Tiwari
Akansha Tiwari (She/They) is an independent wildlife filmmaker who works on marine wildlife and conversation stories. She is the director of 'Tangled Seas', one of India's first films on discarded fishing gear in the Indian ocean and is currently working on 'Pass', a film series on the impact linear intrusions have on wildlife. She was the Jackson Wild Summit Fellow in 2020. They have also worked on documentaries for Nat Geo through the production houses she was associated with.
