Hey! I am Jakob Deutsch. Currently, I work as a university assistant at TU Wien in the group 'Multiscale Calculus of Variations' of Elisa Davoli at the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing. I am doing my PhD under the supervision of Elisa Davoli (TU Wien) and Manuel Friedrich (JKU Linz). I am also a member of the student board of the Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM), and organise a discussion group for PhDs close to & in Calculus of Variations with Samuele Riccò.

My primary research interests are rooted in the field of Calculus of Variations and Geometric Measure Theory. More specifically, my thesis revolves around topics related to phase transitions (Modica-Mortola/Cahn-Hilliard functionals).
