Hey! I am Jakob Deutsch. Currently, I work as a university assistant at TU Wien in the group 'Multiscale Calculus of Variations' of Elisa Davoli at the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing. I am doing my PhD under the supervision of Elisa Davoli (TU Wien) and Manuel Friedrich (FAU Erlangen). I am also a member of the student board of the Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM).

My primary research interests are rooted in the field of Calculus of Variations and Geometric Measure Theory. More specifically, my thesis topic are solid-solid phase transitions (also known as the two gradient theory of phase transitions).
You will find me at these events in 2025:
Workshop: 'Frontiers in Calculus of Variations and Applied Analysis' (2025 September, Munich)
Over the last few years, I have taught several exercise classes.
Currently, I am organizing the Seminar for Analysis for Bachelor and Master Students at TU Wien together with Stefan Egger, Michael Kaltenbäck and Harald Woracek and the exercise classes for Calculus of Variations with Elisa Davoli.
