I’m an associate professor at the department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at Umeå University. See my university page, for exact physical adress and email adress.
My research field is Complex Geometry and Geometric Analysis.
PhD students:
Noémie Vlaanderen Oldenzeel
Noémie will work on the SYZ conjecture in mirror symmetry, bridging the framework of non-Archimedean geometry with the PDE theory for real Monge-Ampère equations. She is estimated to graduate in Spring 2029.
Rolf Andreasson (co-supervised with Robert Berman)
Rolf has worked on canonical heights in Arakelov geometry (see arXiv:2205.00730, arXiv:2312.05064, arXiv:2406.19785) and real Monge-Ampère equations in SYZ mirror symmetry (see arXiv:2303.05276, arXiv:2403.01620). He is estimated to graduate in Spring 2026.
Postdocs:
Mohammad Sohaib Khalid (Jan 2025 - Dec 2026)
Sohaib's research concerns stability conditions in complex geoemtry. In particular, his research shows that for a large class of PDEs (including the Z-critical equation and the deformed Hermitian Yang Mills equation), instability is characterized by a particular set of destabilizing subvarieties. When Sohaib comes to Umeå, we will, among other things, work on stability conditions for PDEs related to the SYZ picture of mirror symmetry.
