Dr. Jakob Everding

Welcome! I am a data scientist working on various issues in health tech.

My work combines techniques from machine learning and econometrics. As part of that line of work, I am interested in prediction and causal inference related to human capital formation, the economics of risky health behaviors, and intrahousehold as well as intergenerational spillover effects.

Before joining the strategy and corporate management division at DAK-Gesundheit, I have been working on Big Data and Digital Health as a Research Associate in the Hamburg Center for Health Economics at the University of Hamburg, Germany and as a Junior Specialist in the Deep Data Lab at the University of California, Irvine.

I received a Ph.D. in economics and econometrics as well as a M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in industrial engineering and management from the University of Hamburg. Moreover, I studied economics, statistics, and public health at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
