The field of study that I have decided to pursue is engineering. When I was young my mom and dad recommended me to do engineering as they told me what it was. In their careers they are surrounded by all different types of engineers and everyone plays a major role in their workforce. I decided that this field was right for me when I realized how good at math I was and figured out that math can play a huge part in engineering.

The classes I am taking/taken thus far that will help in achieving my career choice are Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, Engineering program at tech center; and AP Physics. I have taken the highest possible classes I can that I think will support me in engineering. In these classes I have learned trigonometry, algebraic equations, and linear algebra which I believe will help me with engineering in the future.

An extracurricular activity I have participated in is lacrosse which taught me that team work is the number 1 thing as you have to get along with the people in your environment when it comes to work because if you bring personal issues onto the field it'll cause miscommunication and lack of success as a team and won’t be able to get the job done. Teamwork will also get you very successful as when everyone is working as a team and communicating things start going together and whatever is supposed to be done is getting done. I have not had a job yet but am currently working for one as it'll help me get an idea of the environment in the work force.

  After I graduate from high school my immediate plans are to go to a four-year college as I believe college will prepare me best for engineering and give me an advantage compared to people who go straight into the workforce. My plan does not change with time as I plan to go to the same college for all four-years but after I get my bachelors I might return after a couple of years to get my masters.

After I achieve my career goal I plan to help my community to the best of my ability. If my neighbor needs help, I will help them. I plan to affect the society I live in by making it positive and welcoming in hopes I can make people feel comfortable in asking me for help as I should with them as well. The impact I hope to have on the world once I attain my dream is to make people think positively more frequently. I believe that I can have a positive impact on the world if I work towards my goal(s) everyday.
