The sensor is not sensitive enough to pick up smaller magnetic fields, but with an operating range of 2000 gauss it can approximate the strength of typical magents. Some noise between 5-20 gauss is frequently detected and accounted for in the programming. Occasionally the baseline output of the sensor fluctuates due to temperature changes and the zero point needs to be recalibrated. This does not significantly affect the proportional increase for a given field. This project was an effective exercise in converting analog sensor output to useful values.
