CLASS OF 2023

Jake Foye is a 2 year varsity starting running back for the Santa Margarita Catholic High School (SMCHS) Eagles, a team consistently ranked in the top 100 nationally.  SMCHS competes in the Trinity League.  The Trinity league has been recognized by MaxPreps as the toughest league in the entire nation. It includes Mater Dei and St. John Bosco who have each won multiple national championships. 

Academically, SMCHS is highly regarded as one of the top private high schools both in the state of California and Nationally. 

Jake does well in the classroom. He is a very well spoken, respectful young man.  (see media interview from 2021 below). 

On the field, Jake is a very tough, hard-nosed football player. He can change the dynamic any football game with his physical play and leadership. Prior to the 2022 season Jake was recognized as one of the top running backs in Southern California by CalHigh Sports and the OC Register. 

Jake is a battle tested, college ready 3-down running back with a unique skill set. He is a tremendous runner who is exceptionally physical and understands the importance of ball security. However he is also excellent receiver with very soft, strong hands who can line up anywhere in the backfield, including the slot. Jake also blocks consistently and with purpose. Following the season Jake was nominated for the prestigious CalHigh Sports D1 All-State team. 

*Although Jake missed the first 4 games of 2022 with mononucleosis, Jake persevered.  Examples of Jake's complete skill set can be seen in both HUDL highlight clips below. Jake is also extremely valuable on special teams.
