I am presently a research computer scientist and adjunct assistant professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Utah. My research focuses on application of computational techniques to clinical and research problems in cardiology. I also teach in the biomedical engineering undergraduate courses. Supplemental to my research activites, I also organize several professional groups at SCI including the SCI IT Liaisons, and the SCI CIP CoOp. I am also an executive member of the consortium for ECGI (CEI).
2025-Present: Research Computer Scientist, SCI Institute, University of Utah
2025-Present: Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, University of Utah
2023-2024: Instructor, University of Utah department of Biomedical Engineering.
2023-2025: Post-doctoral fellow, University of Utah, Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute.
2018-2023 : Graduate Researcher, University of Utah, Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute. I carry out my graduate thesis work under Dr. Rob MacLeod, applying computational techniques to address questions and challenges facing the diagnosis, treatment, and physiological understanding of pathologies in cardiac electrophysiology. My research specifically focuses on myocardial ischemia, electrocardiographic imaging, uncertainty quantification, and applying state of the art techniques to improve data analysis.
2022: Lead consulting engineer, Majelco Medical. I worked as a consulting engineer to help in the development of a device that measures patient blood loss during surgery. My role involved developing and implementing protocols for hardware validation, as well as the creation of custom software interfaces with the signal acquisition hardware.
2020: Software Consultant, Bard/Software Technology Group. I developed a MatLab GUI to process ultrasound images to produce semi-automated segmentations and patient-specific models.
2016-2018: Research Technician, University of Utah, Dr. Dean Li and Dr. Shannon Odelberg lab.
2013-2016: Undergraduate Researcher, Westminster College.
2014-2016: Chemistry tutor, Westminster College. During my undergraduate studies I worked int he chemistry tutoring center, helping tutor and teach other students general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry.
2011-2013: Lifeguard, Little Dipper Pool, Colorado Springs, CO. I worked as a lifeguard at a neighborhood pool during high school. I could not have asked for a better first job, and I had dreamed of working at the Little Dipper since I was a child who grew up going there every summer.
