The Hawa Mahal, or "Palace of Winds," is a five-story palace in Jaipur, India, built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Its unique pink sandstone facade is covered in 953 small windows called jharokhas. The palace was designed by Lal Chand Usta to allow royal women to observe street festivals and daily life without being seen.
