I am always looking for Ph.D. candidates who are interested in doing research on (a) developing efficient and trustworthy machine learning systems (esp. multimodal Gen AI), (b) adaptive, safe, efficient robotics, (c) machine learning for health, and (d) designing and evaluating novel mobile systems and applications.
Students with EE, CS, Maths, and Statistics backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply. Please fill out this application form if you are interested.
After reading the relevant information from the form, if I see you as a good fit, then I will arrange for you to send your pre-application package, including CV, transcripts, samples of publications, references (at least two), and a well-thought-out research proposal to me.
Candidates are expected to have:
a Master's/Bachelor's with a first-class degree,
a solid background in systems/machine learning; mathematics/statistics/physics (if you have taken ML-related courses),
and a strong motivation towards academic excellence.
The following background would be a significant advantage:
Graduated from top and well-known universities.
Published research articles in well-known workshops, conferences, or journals.
Experience in the practical implementation of systems such as EDA, GPU kernels, compiler design, FPGA, and software development.
Experience in machine learning, data science, robotics.
Well-maintained GitHub for your projects with code.
