Yes, although you will likely not be in the same small group. Parent/guardian/family volunteers are typically not assigned to the same group as their student to promote greater independence and student learning opportunities. You may eat together during the lunch break, though, and will certainly see one another at other times throughout the day.
Nope! Your experience as an adult who has budgeted for purchases, made decisions regarding expenses, and balanced wants & needs is all the experience you need to be a great volunteer. The JA Finance Park Volunteer Guide and the JA staff will provide the rest of the material you need to support the students in their day.
There is coffee available in the morning for volunteers and popcorn for both volunteers and students during lunch. However, there are no vending machines or other lunch provided, so please bring your own lunch and beverage if desired. There is a volunteer break room with tables, chairs, refrigerator, and microwave available for your use.
Junior Achievement takes the safety of all students and visitors seriously. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness (including fever, cough, or shortness of breath), please stay home. We have masks available but do not require masking in our building.
We expect you to give your full attention to the students while you are volunteering. Volunteers should be fully engaged with students the entire day and keep time on your phone to a minimum.
