Jae Woong Shim received the joint Ph.D. Degree in electrical engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, and The University of Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia, in 2016. He was a senior researcher in HVDC Research Center, LS Electric from 2016 to 2017. He worked at Department of Energy Engineering, Inje University, South Korea, between 2017 and 2021. He has been with Department of Electrical Engineering, Sangmyung University, Seoul, South Korea since 2021, where he is currently leading Power System Control & Stability Lab. His research interest includes power system dynamics and control, HVDC/FACTS/MTDC/MVDC/ESS operation and control, wide-area control with renewables, and power system stability issues with power electronics devices.
