We are looking for strong and motivated person for both internship and regular positions for 2026.
(You can find a list of future project topics& keywords we are interested in here. Currently, we are offering openings in four topics.)
Internship (onsite, at least 3 months)
* NOTE1: We prioritize applicants who have completed an internship (at least 3 months) in our lab before the application process begins. Thus, reach out as early as possible to secure an internship. The earlier, the better.
(For example, if you plan to apply for the spring term next year, you must contact us before June of this year (ideally before January) to ensure you can gain at least three months of experience in our lab prior to applying. FYI, positions are typically filled by the end of August.)
* NOTE2: If you have already completed a master’s degree, this step may occasionally be waived; however, it is still highly recommended.
* NOTE3: Given that we prioritize candidates with our internship experience and typically only have 3 to 4 openings per year, applicants without an internship in our lab face significantly lower chances of selection. Typically, we have 3-4 interns out of about 10 applicants each semester, and only about half of these interns are taken on as members.
* NOTE4: Please note that completing an internship does not guarantee admission to AIGS.
* NOTE5: Please note that we do not participate in U-SURF or U-WURF program.
* NOTE6: Please note that we do not provide any financial support for interns unless they actually contribute on a project related to the research grant.
[Application process]
Send me an email with your CV, transcript, English test score, and research topics you are interested in.
I will schedule an individual interview**.
** The interview will be a form of the paper presentation via zoom (video chat); each applicant will be asked to give a brief presentation of a research paper (assigned in advance), then have short Q&A time so that we can examine his/her capability in mathematics, programming, and communication. The details of the interview (e.g., time and date, the paper for presentation, zoom connection info, etc.) will be scheduled by email.
Regular member
* NOTE1: As mentioned earlier, we prioritize applicants who have completed an internship in our lab. (For those who have completed a master's degree, this step can occasionally be skipped.)
* NOTE2: When applying, please send me an email ASAP with your CV, English test score, and transcript so I can know that you are interested in our lab. Although English test score is optional according to the official instructions, we do require the test score.
I might not reply to your contact (there are too many requests). Once you pass the 1st official screening (document), I will schedule an individual interview. Please refer to http://adm-g.intl.unist.ac.kr/ for detailed admission information.
