I am looking for strong and motivated students (or interns). The partial list of future project topics& keywords are as follows:
Inverse problems for various imaging modalities
Medical image reconstructions (MRI, CT, DOT, Cryo-EM, EEG, fMRI, etc.)
Natural image restorations (super-resolution, denoising, deblurring, etc.)
Deep generative models
Developing a high fidelity and diverse image-to-image translation model
Improving generative models based on theoretical understandings
Bridging between signal processing and deep learning communities
Providing a design principle for deep learning architectures
Network analysis using topological data analysis (TDA)
ㅁInternship Opportunity (Primarily onsite, up to 3 months)
* NOTE1: We prioritize applicants who have completed an internship in our lab. Thus, reach out about an internship one to three months (the earlier, the better) before applying to graduate programs. (For those who have completed a master's degree, this step can occasionally be skipped, but it is still highly recommended for them too .)
* NOTE2: Given that we prioritize candidates with our internship experience and typically only have three to four openings per year, applicants without an internship in our lab face significantly lower chances of selection. Typically, we have 3-4 interns out of about 10 applicants each semester, and only about half of these interns are taken on as members. (Note that this does not guarantee your admission to AIGS. )

** The interview will be a form of the paper presentation via zoom (video chat); each applicant will be asked to give a brief presentation of a research paper (assigned in advance), then have short Q&A time so that we can examine his/her capability in mathematics, programming, and communication. The details of the interview (e.g., time and date, the paper for presentation, zoom connection info, etc.) will be scheduled by email.
