My research project has been selected in the competition (16 selected out of 50) to present at the Workshop on Collaborative Research at the Intersection of Statistics and Engineering (CRSE). The workshop venue is the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, from August 11-13.

This is the NSF Mathematical Foundations of Digital Twins (MATH-DT) project, collaborating with the Aerospace Engineering at OSU. I look forward to giving a talk on my latest work in Heterogeneous Transfer Learning for Digital Twins (DT), in which I am developing high-fidelity DTs to improve quadrotor control.

Workshop and Awards

May 2026

I attended the 11th Workshop on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics from May 8 through 10 in Atlanta, GA. I presented my recent work, Personalized Federated Learning via Variance-Aware Nonparametric Empirical Bayes (VANEB), for the poster session (I appreciate the organizing committee for awarding the NSF travel award!).

In the workshop, I have received many helpful and encouraging comments. Gratefully, this presentation received the Best Student Poster Award, selected from the top 5 of 20 presentations. This work also earned me the Whitney Award for Best Research Associate from the Department of Statistics, The Ohio State University.

I am grateful to my advisor, Dr. Paul, for supporting my attendance and presentation. This work has also been supported by the NSF Division of Mathematical Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University, and the Ohio State Presidential Research Excellence Program.

I will be presenting my paper, Heterogeneous Transfer Learning for High-dimensional Regression with Feature Mismatch, at the AI Research Summit (March 3, OSU). I presented the same paper at the Edward F. Hayes Advanced Research Forum, held at OSU.
I am presenting my paper, Embedding Network Autoregression for Time Series Analysis and Causal Peer Inferece, at the Virtual Workshop for Junior Researchers in Time Series on March 26.

I will be presenting my paper, Heterogeneous Transfer Learning for High-dimensional Regression with Feature Mismatch, at the University of Florida Department of Statistics’ Annual Winter Workshop: 2026 Frontiers in Learning Under Data Heterogeneity, held on January 16-17, 2026.
I am particularly excited about the workshop’s speaker lineup, which includes many renowned PIs whose research interests closely align with mine. I am also grateful to the organizing committee for the travel support!

JSM 2025

August 2025

I am honored to have received a Travel Award from the Inaugural Workshop on Frontiers in Statistical Machine Learning (FSML) for my work on heterogeneous transfer learning.

This travel award, sponsored by the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS), supported my travel to Nashville to attend the workshop. Our paper was among the top ten submissions.

I presented this work at Vanderbilt University, where the workshop was held, and again at my JSM Topic-Contributed Session.
