Jade Carson is a student at Western Washington University. A theater major with an emphasis on script writing and directing.
Born and Raised in Eugene, Oregon, but having moved to Bellingham, Washington, her history with religion and her LGBTQ identity influence her writing heavily.
Jade has been involved in theater arts since a young age, first acting in a production of The Lion King in fifth grade. Ever since acting for the first time, she has been enamored with all aspects of theater and its ability to impact people.
In her junior year of High School, she had the opportunity to direct a series of short one-act plays, and dove in head first. Her production of three short plays from the “Arcana” collection were greatly received, and the experience opened her eyes to more than just acting.
She began writing as well in high school, finishing her first one-act, "Montana" in her senior year. She was able to get her friends together and direct the play shortly after writing it. After producing this short play with her high school, it performed at the Oregon State Thespian Festival and was awarded a Full Superior rating by the Oregon Thespian Society.
Jade Carson is a Transgender Woman, and aims to center the LGBTQ viewpoint in her works. Whether comedy or tragedy, the experiences of young queer people comes first, and she aims to create a wider space for Transgender writers of all walks of life to come together and celebrate their work.
