Our goal is to understand the brain and computational mechanisms of decision-making, both in the healthy state and also how they are changed by psychiatric disorders (in particular symptoms of mood disorders e.g. apathy, anxiety). For this we use brain imaging (FMRI, MEG), big data, computational modelling, naturalistic tasks and pharmacological and psychological interventions (mindfulness). Recently, we’ve been particularly interested in asking how emotions can be included in rational models of decision making.
