This site is part of an ongoing project to digitally archive materials related to the Raleigh Speedway.

Raleigh Speedway was a 1-mile paved, paperclip shaped oval superspeedway in Raleigh, NC. Originally opened as Southland Speedway, it hosted a AAA Indy-car race on July 4, 1952 before becoming a NASCAR sanctioned track in 1953. It hosted 7 NASCAR Grand National races from 1953 to 1958 when it closed. The track was then demolished and the property sold in 1967.
