• The Mission of the Student Alumni Association is to cultivate and maintain the active relationship between alumni and current students whereas the transition from student to alumnus becomes a seamless process.
• SAA achieves this by focusing on four main pillars: networking, leadership, service, and philanthropy.
• SAA members act as ambassadors for the Office of University Advancement assisting at events throughout the year with alumni, families, and donors of the University.
• The group’s signature event is a partnership with the Career Resource Center in the Spring semester – Alumni Career Couch – where recent JU alumni are invited back to serve on a panel and answer student questions about life after graduation.
• Members also advocate for giving back to JU on campus and social media during philanthropy campaigns such as: Giving Tuesday, Big Green Give, and the Senior Class Giving campaign.
• The Office of University Advancement often chooses from current SAA members (and later on when you become alumni) as spotlight subjects for fundraising appeals, social media, or articles in The Wave.
