• The items and drawings in the beginning were my parents actual things they had from when they were dating.

• I originally was going to use a song called Untitled #9 - Smaskifa 1 by Sigur Ros for the ending scene, but copyright problems came into play (Still listen to the song, literal angels)

If you paid close attention to the audio, a ticking clock can be heard throughout the film up until Mel goes to bed and passes away. 

While the clock is still ticking and still moving forward, Mel has not, she is stuck and not moving forward. The clock stops the moment Mel accepts the fact that she will never move on. 

The clock was her motivation.
