Each year the CCAC takes the 8th graders on a trip called the Kids2College/Pathways2Professional Skilled Trades. This trip shows 8th graders what a college experience would be like, and also lets them see different types of manufacturing and skilled trades options.
Parkside 8th graders have been able to experience LeMatic, CMF, Dawn Foods, Lomar, and Advance Turning over the last few years. We strive to make sure students are learning in each tour. Students are averaging above 70% stating we have increased their understanding of the skilled trades!
Parkside 8th Graders have been able to visit Spring Arbor University, Baker College, and Jackson College over the years. Students have valued the college tour greatly, and have been able to increase their understanding of college!
