Welcome to the Jackson Barracudas Swim Team — a community-based summer league program dedicated to helping young swimmers grow in confidence, skill, and love for the sport.
We proudly serve swimmers ages 6–18 of all ability levels, from beginners who are just learning the basics to experienced swimmers looking to refine their technique and race skills. Our team is built on the belief that swimming should be fun, challenging, and rewarding for every athlete.
Throughout the summer season, swimmers will develop:
Proper technique in all four competitive strokes
Endurance, strength, and race skills
Sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence
Our coaching staff is passionate about working with youth and focuses on teaching fundamentals, encouraging effort, and celebrating growth. We believe success is not only measured by times and ribbons, but by personal improvement, dedication, and a positive attitude.
Most importantly, the Jackson Barracudas strive to create a welcoming team culture where swimmers feel supported, make lasting friendships, and leave each practice excited to return.
Our Mission
To provide a fun, safe, and encouraging summer swim experience that builds strong swimmers, confident athletes, and positive teammates.
Our Story
The Jackson Barracudas Swim Team was founded in 2023 by Brayden Walters, with support from dedicated volunteers and staff in response to a growing need for a local summer swim program in the Jackson community.
Many years ago, Jackson had a summer swim team, but after that program closed, families were left without a local option. The nearest opportunity required traveling to a neighboring town, creating barriers for many swimmers who wanted to participate. Recognizing this need, Brayden launched the Jackson Barracudas with the goal of bringing summer swimming back home to Jackson.
Beyond providing a fun and accessible summer league experience, the Barracudas were also created to help build a strong foundation for long-term swimmer development — with the vision of preparing athletes to eventually transition into the Jackson High School swim program.
What began as a small start-up team has continued to grow into a thriving community program serving swimmers ages 6–18 of all ability levels. The Barracudas remain committed to their original purpose: creating opportunities, developing confident swimmers, and strengthening the future of swimming in Jackson.
