Jackson Ellard is a Master's student in Georgia State University's History program focusing on Late Antique and Early Medieval Religious history. He focuses on the Origenist Controversy and how information and ideology spread during this period. He has also worked on Early Medieval Gender History looking into the categorization of gender queer saints. His senior thesis was done under the direction of Dr. Rachel Ernst.
In his time as an undergraduate he held a fellowship position in the Mellon Funded Humanities Inclusivity Program as well as starting his graduate experience early through the 4+1 BA/MA History Program. He also attended Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Science's Summer Research Program through The Leadership Alliance in the Summer of 2025 with Dr. Camille Robcis. He won two awards, the Provost Award and First Place Oral Presentation, at the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference for his presentation titled "Digital Archive Controlled Vocabularies: Semiotics, Methodology, and Praxis" with the advisement of Curt Jackson.
