The CCAC distributes a profile survey at the beginning of each year that gauges where the student is at with their post-secondary planning. According to the CCAC data at the beginning of their senior year, on average, 66.9% of seniors want to attend college, and on average 4.9% of seniors want to attend a trade school.

The CCAC distributes a post-secondary survey at the end of each year to gauge what students have decided to do post-high school. According to this CCAC data, on average, 21.2% of seniors want to attend a 2-year college, 48.7% want to attend a 4-year college, and on average 8% of seniors to attend a trade school, certificate program, or an apprenticeship. Well over half of the seniors want to continue their education.
The CCAC asks seniors what is the highest level of education they would like to complete at the end of the year too. As it is displayed many students still want to go beyond high school to get some type of credential. On average 76.1% of seniors want to continue their education after high school. This average increased by 8% from the profile survey.
