Joaquim "Jack", Bridgida and their 3 kids moved from a small town called A do Barbas District of Leiria North of Lisbon Portugal to Bristol Rhode Island in Febuary 28th 1964.

Joaquim got a job working at Balzano's "Tweet's" Family Restaurant , Kaiser Aluminum ( Pearson Yachts), and doing other handyman side jobs. Bridgidea was a House Cleaner in Bristol and Barrington as well as a cleaning lady at Premier Thread.

They bought Jack's (then called Duke's Cafe) in 1972 and opened up that same year. Joaquim would cook as well as serve people. Fast forward 50+ years and the restaurat is still being run by their Family, with the orignainal recipes!
