Welcome! I am a Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne working on the health economics of palliative care. My research interests lie in understanding and modelling human behaviour as it relates to different topics of health economics. I use behavioural and experimental methods, econometrics, and simulation modelling in my work.
I am finalising my PhD in Economics at the Centre for Health Economics at Monash University, under the supervision of A/Professor Duncan Mortimer and Joe Isaac Chair of Business and Economics Professor Lata Gangadharan.
My research explores models of human decision making, pulling from interdisciplinary fields such as neuroscience, psychology, mathematics and economics. Specifically for my thesis I have been looking into agent behaviour in transitioning from private to mixed private-public markets (particularly in the health domain) using experiments and simulation mdoelling to understand market preferences and model policy outcomes prior to implementation.
I hold a Bachelor of Economics from The University of Queensland (Australia) and a Masters in Human Decision Science from Maastricht University (Netherlands). After years spent in the insurance industry I have come back to academia, working as a researcher in behavioural economics at KU Leuven in Belgium, pursuing my doctorate at Monash University in Melbourne and now working at The University of Melbourne.
My ongoing and published projects span numerous topics beyond my aforementioned interests. I love exploring anything relating to cognition, decision making, game theory, experimental economics, applied micro-econometrics, and health economics.
