I'm most interested in studying and perusing something along the engineering field. My goal and dream is to be a software/computer engineer. This has been something I've been intrigued by for a part of my life and I've always been interested in studying and learning more about this. My mom works as a teacher at the Dr. James A. Forest and Career technology Center at the IT Networking program, she has extensive knowledge on how computers and software works. I decided this career was right for me some time ago when I had an increased interest on learning programming languages, also learning how to build my first computer.
I'm currently taking the Engineering program at the Tech Center, I also have taken Computer Science Principles and Computer Science A back at my home school, Great Mills. I have learned a variety of skills at the Tech Center including hands-on skills, teamwork skills, communication skills and many more. Not only would this greatly assist me in my journey to become an engineer but also would help my in the working world by itself.
I'm currently apart of the the Lacrosse team at my home school, similar to the Tech Center, being apart of the team helps with leadership skills and team work. I was apart of a camp recently over the past summer that taught us how to use certain modeling software and how to work together as a team to do something, that required team work, good communication and thoughts. I am currently employed at the Tall Timbers Marina and like the others, that has taught me communication and much more. I feel as all of these skills are extremely essential into not only perusing my dream as becoming and engineer but going into the work force in general and will provide a huge aid to me as I continue to work to that goal.
My immediate plans after high school is to attend a 4-year college to study engineering. The goal is to possibly get into Virginia Tech or UMD. I hope to have a positive impact in the world, whether its big or small, but the goal is to expand my knowledge greatly and learn from others to possibly do something big for the future.
