Career Goal Narrative
The career that interests me the most and has interested me ever since I was a little kid is Aerospace. I am interested in the space engineering sector and the advancements of technology related to it. I have been able to visit NAVAIR's museum in Pax River. I want to continue the expansion of the Final Frontier, to build new things and help solve new problems. I am also interested in taking Mechanics if I find that Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering is not what I really want. I in general would like to pursue something related to space though since its so beautiful and mysterious. I have also gained a very large interest in Biomedical Engineering recently: I have always excelled at comprehending science and its nature. I would like to get into the prosthesis side of Biomedical engineering. Fusing the with mechanics to better one's life is another dream of mine.
I have taken classes to advance my knowledge in Space Science and have taken multiple computer coding classes as well as AP Computer Science. I also like to build projects at home with my father. Over the Summer of my Junior Year I attended a week long camp at Embry Riddle Learning about Aviation mechanics, visited the wind tunnel, how plans operate and pathways in aviation. I have also taken honors Physics in my Junior Year which I believe will help me understand certain processes in engineering I have also taken a two year course at the James A Forest Career and Tech Center in which I have gained the AutoCAD Certification as well as my NC3 Tape and Rule Certification.
I have been involved in multiple extracurricular actives such as football conditioning, which taught me how to cooperate with people. I have also been involved in Student Government and currently serve as Junior Vice President after being elected Freshman and Sophomore Vice President. In this role, I continue to learn how to lead and work with large numbers of people as well as develop my social skills. Outside of school, I am a volunteer at the Saint Mary's Animal Welfare League (SMAWL). I have also worked at a Propane Gas Company named Taylor Gas Company.
When I get out of high school, my goal is to attend college and major in Engineering or Space Science. I have always wanted to learn as much as I possibly could about space and college will allow me to do so. I don't have an idea yet of which college that I plan to attend but am beginning to search.
After I achieve my career goal of retiring from a Space company, I will most likely engineer things to help out the debilitated and elderly. I hope my aspirations in my field of engineering lead to easier travel to Gateway or beyond. To know I made some type of impact would mean a lot to me and to know that I can help advance the human understanding and concept of space and beyond would also mean a lot to me as Space is such a interesting and unending idea.
