October 27, 2017, just almost two years ago, president trump declared a national emergency... that national emergency, was the opioids epidemic. In just a week a good bit of people were found to be overdosing or died from overdosing in the Los Angeles area, this tragic struck one of my favorite singer's, Demi Lovato, who was found to have overdosed but was saved, as of Malcolm McCormick, aka mac miller, he was not found in time and died of an overdose of fentanyl, alcohol and cocaine fentanyl, a man-made drug, its purpose is for pain relief/anesthesia, when performing surgery but it is a narcotic. "In 2016, 63,632 persons died of a drug overdose in the untied states; 66.4%(42,249) involved an opioid." said by puja in the American Journal of Health, he continues "although prescription and illicit opioid overdoses are closely entwined, it is important to differentiate the deaths to craft appropriator prevention and response efforts."
