If you want a dedicated professional headset for long workdays and crystal-clear calls, choose Jabra Evolve2; if you need immersive, high-fidelity music with spatial audio for your home theater or sleep, choose Sonos Ace Noise Cancelling.
• Jabra Evolve2 85: Its biggest strength is the 37-hour battery life and 10-microphone system designed to isolate your voice in noisy offices, but it lacks the lossless audio streaming and spatial features of modern music players. This pick is for professionals who need a reliable tool for all-day meetings and call clarity.
• Sonos Ace: It offers world-class Active Noise Cancellation and Dolby Atmos with dynamic head tracking for an immersive listening experience, though its 30-hour battery is slightly shorter than the Jabra's and it lacks a boom mic for office calls. This pick is for audiophiles and those seeking the best sound quality for media consumption or sleeping.
The Jabra Evolve2 85 is engineered first and foremost as a business tool that happens to play music well. If your day revolves around video conferences, phone calls, and managing distractions in a busy environment, this headset is built to handle the load. The standout feature here is the active noise cancellation, which claims to cancel 54% more noise than previous models. This isn't just about blocking out a lawnmower; it's about silencing the hum of an open office so you can focus entirely on the person speaking on the other end of the line.
Comfort is another pillar of the design. With memory foam padding and an over-ear shape, it is constructed to be worn for extended periods without causing fatigue. The inclusion of a charging stand is a practical touch that keeps your workspace tidy and ensures the headset is always ready to go when you sit down. The 37-hour battery life is a significant advantage here; you can power through a full week of heavy use without needing to plug it in daily. For someone who needs to wear headphones from morning until evening, that endurance is critical.

However, this device has specific trade-offs that might turn off a casual listener. While it includes 40mm speakers capable of rich audio, the tuning prioritizes speech clarity over musical fidelity. The hidden boom arm provides professional microphone pickup, which is fantastic for calls but adds bulk to the ear cups when folded up. If your primary goal is to listen to hi-res tracks or enjoy a movie with deep bass and wide soundstages, this headset feels more like a utility tool than an entertainment centerpiece. It is perfect for the hybrid worker who needs a "one-and-done" solution for their desk setup, but less ideal for the music purist.
The Sonos Ace is a different beast entirely, designed with the consumer audio experience front and center. If you are looking for the best neckband headphones for sleeping or simply want to lose yourself in a podcast or album, the Ace delivers a level of immersion that the Jabra cannot match. The inclusion of Dolby Atmos with dynamic head tracking is a game-changer. As you move your head, the sound stays anchored to your screen or source, creating a three-dimensional space that makes movies and music feel incredibly realistic. This is not standard stereo; it is a cinematic experience delivered wirelessly.
Sound quality is where the Ace truly shines. It supports lossless audio streaming via Bluetooth or USB-C, meaning you get the full detail of your high-resolution files without compression artifacts. Whether you are using it with a compatible Sonos soundbar to swap TV audio or pairing it directly to a phone, the frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz ensures you hear every nuance. The plush memory foam and soft vegan leather ear cushions are designed for "all-day comfort," making them suitable for long listening sessions. The ANC is described as world-class, neutralizing external sounds to create a bubble of silence that is perfect for focusing or drifting off to sleep.
The trade-off lies in its connectivity and form factor. It does not include a boom arm, which means the microphones are tuned for voice calls but lack the specialized isolation of a dedicated business headset like the Jabra. You won't find the same level of background noise suppression for conference calls here. Additionally, while the 30-hour battery life is impressive, it falls just short of the Jabra's marathon runtime. The rapid charging feature—3 minutes for 3 hours of playback—is a nice safety net, but if you forget to charge it overnight, you have less buffer room than with the Evolve2. This product is for the home user who values sonic performance and comfort above all else.

• Best for immersive audio and movies → Sonos Ace: Dolby Atmos and dynamic head tracking provide a spatial experience the Jabra lacks.

• Best for comfortable sleep → Sonos Ace: The softer, plush memory foam and lack of a protruding boom arm make it better for lying down.
• Best for office organization → Jabra Evolve2: The included charging stand keeps your desk clean and the headset accessible.
• Best for quick top-ups → Sonos Ace: Three minutes of charging gives you three hours of playback, perfect for a rushed morning.
• Best for Microsoft Teams users → Jabra Evolve2: It is certified for plug-and-play integration with UC platforms, including Teams.
I would buy the Sonos Ace Noise Cancelling if my priority was personal enjoyment, particularly for sleeping or watching movies at home. The combination of lossless audio, Dolby Atmos, and the soft memory foam creates a sanctuary of sound that is hard to beat. However, if I were buying for a strict work-from-home scenario requiring constant calls, I would stick with the Jabra. For the average person looking for a single pair of headphones to relax with and perhaps catch up on podcasts before bed, the Sonos Ace is the superior choice for its ability to deliver a true high-fidelity experience.
Both offer memory foam cushions, but the Sonos Ace is generally preferred for sleeping due to its softer fit and lack of a bulky boom arm, whereas the Jabra is heavier and designed for upright sitting.
Both feature Active Noise Cancellation, but the Jabra Evolve2 targets office environments with specific algorithms to block conversations, while the Sonos Ace focuses on neutralizing general ambient noise for maximum immersion.
Only the Sonos Ace explicitly supports lossless audio streaming over Bluetooth and USB-C, making it the clear winner for audiophiles seeking the highest possible sound quality.
The Jabra Evolve2 works as a plug-and-play device with many computers, while the Sonos Ace requires the Sonos app for initial registration and to enable certain advanced features like firmware updates.
