If you want outstanding battery life, superior noise cancellation for open offices, and a foldable boom arm that blends into a casual office look, choose Jabra Evolve2; if you need a lightweight on-ear design specifically engineered for contact center shifts, intelligent call controls via head movement, and an inline controller for instant access, choose EPOS Impact 1060T.
• Jabra Evolve2: Offers industry-leading 37-hour battery life and enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that cancels 54% more ambient noise, but trades a traditional over-ear fit for a slightly bulkier profile with memory foam padding. Best for professionals who spend long days in noisy environments and prioritize all-day power without charging.
• EPOS Impact 1060T: Features a dual-sided lightweight design with BrainAdapt comfort technology and smart call controls using head movements, but lacks the deep bass extension of larger drivers and has a shorter frequency range optimized strictly for voice clarity. Best for contact center agents or remote workers who need to move freely and manage calls hands-free during high-volume shifts.
The Jabra Evolve2 85 is built for the professional who demands silence and stamina. Its most defining feature is the combination of its massive 37-hour battery life and the ability to recover quickly from a short charge. If you have ever missed a crucial call because your headset died mid-meeting, this model changes the game. A mere 15-minute charge provides up to 8 hours of use, which means you can plug it in while grabbing coffee and still make it through a full day of back-to-back Zoom or Teams sessions. This isn't just about longevity; it is about reliability when you cannot afford downtime.
In terms of audio performance, the Evolve2 85 utilizes 40mm speakers designed for rich, high-definition audio. This is a significant upgrade for those who listen to music between calls or need to hear subtle nuances in voice quality. The inclusion of 10 built-in microphones creates a system that filters out 97% of background conversation noise, ensuring that your voice comes through crystal clear even in a bustling household or a busy cafe. The Active Noise Cancellation here is not just a feature; it is a core component of the design, claiming to cancel 54% more noise than previous iterations. This makes it an ideal choice for anyone working in open-plan offices where the hum of conversation and machinery would otherwise drown out their own thoughts.

However, the trade-off lies in the physical form factor. This is an over-ear headset with substantial memory foam padding. While this ensures supreme comfort for many, it creates a sealed environment that some users might find too warm after several hours, or simply too bulky for travel compared to smaller alternatives. The design also includes a hidden boom arm that folds away, giving it a contemporary, casual aesthetic suitable for video calls where you don't want a giant microphone protruding from your face. If you are looking for a headset that doubles as premium music headphones while maintaining professional call standards, the Evolve2 85 fits that niche perfectly. It is the right pick for the hybrid worker who wants one device to rule them all, provided they do not mind the slightly heavier build.
The EPOS Impact 1060T takes a completely different approach to the problem of professional communication by focusing entirely on the ergonomics of the contact center and high-volume calling. It is an on-ear headset, which immediately sets it apart from the over-ear dominance of its competitor. The design philosophy here centers on "BrainAdapt" comfort, utilizing soft memory foam earpads and a lightweight frame intended to prevent fatigue during long shifts. For agents who wear headsets for eight hours straight, every gram counts, and the listed specifications highlight a focus on weight reduction and structural lightness rather than heavy-duty isolation.
Where the Jabra shines on raw power, the EPOS shines on intelligence and workflow integration. This headset is certified for Microsoft Teams and features three digital beamforming microphones powered by EPOS AI. But the real differentiator is the control scheme. You can answer calls, mute the microphone, or adjust volume using head movements or by positioning the boom arm. This hands-free capability is revolutionary for someone whose hands are constantly occupied with typing, navigating spreadsheets, or handling physical products while talking. Additionally, the inline controller sits just 25 cm from the headset, placing critical functions like mute and volume within immediate reach without requiring you to hunt for buttons on the ear cup itself.
The audio profile of the Impact 1060T is distinctively tailored for speech. With a frequency range of 85 Hz to 2550 Hz, it sacrifices the deep bass and ultra-high treble found in consumer music headphones to ensure maximum intelligibility of the human voice. This is not a flaw; it is a specialization. If your primary goal is sleep headphones for calls or a tool for absolute vocal clarity in a noisy room, this narrow bandwidth ensures you hear exactly what matters. The 360-degree busylight and mic-tip LED alerts provide visual cues that help maintain professionalism without breaking concentration. This headset is the definitive choice for contact center managers, customer support specialists, or anyone whose entire workday revolves around speaking and listening, rather than media consumption.
• Best for battery life → Jabra Evolve2: With 37 hours of continuous playback and a rapid 15-minute charge for 8 hours of use, it dominates the endurance category, whereas the EPOS data sheet does not specify comparable battery metrics.
• Best for active noise cancellation → Jabra Evolve2: It offers Active Noise Cancellation that explicitly claims to cancel 54% more ambient noise, providing a quieter experience than the Hybrid Noise Cancellation found on the EPOS unit.
• Best for call control efficiency → EPOS Impact 1060T: The ability to answer calls via head movement and the presence of an inline controller 25 cm from the headset offer superior workflow management for fast-paced environments.
• Best for comfort during long shifts → EPOS Impact 1060T: The on-ear design and BrainAdapt technology are specifically engineered to reduce fatigue during extended wear, contrasting with the heavier over-ear build of the Jabra.
• Best for music and general audio quality → Jabra Evolve2: The 40mm dynamic drivers and a frequency range of 5–20000 Hz deliver a much wider, richer soundstage suitable for both calls and entertainment.
• Best for vocal clarity in specific ranges → EPOS Impact 1060T: Its specialized frequency response of 85 Hz–2550 Hz is tuned strictly for voice intelligibility, making it ideal for pure communication tasks.
• Best for video call aesthetics → Jabra Evolve2: The foldable boom arm allows for a sleek, modern look that hides the microphone when not in use, whereas the EPOS maintains a more traditional, visible boom structure.
• Best for durability in high-volume centers → EPOS Impact 1060T: Designed specifically for contact centers with a focus on long-term durability and integrated analytics via EPOS Manager, though the Jabra also offers a robust 2-year warranty.
After weighing the specifications and design philosophies of both units, I would buy the Jabra Evolve2 for my own daily setup. The sheer utility of the 37-hour battery life combined with the aggressive 54% noise cancellation improvement makes it the more versatile tool for a modern professional. While the EPOS is a marvel of ergonomic engineering for contact centers, the Jabra's ability to handle everything from deep-focus work to casual music listening with a single device feels like a smarter investment for the average user. If your primary need is for calls, the Jabra's 10-microphone array and superior isolation provide a level of confidence that the narrower audio spectrum of the EPOS cannot match outside of a dedicated call-center environment. However, if you are managing a team of agents who need hands-free controls, the EPOS remains the specialist's choice.
While neither is marketed specifically as sleep headphones, the lightweight on-ear design of the EPOS Impact 1060T might be more comfortable for side-sleepers due to its reduced bulk compared to the over-ear Jabra, though the Jabra's memory foam is softer. Neither is ideal for lying flat on your stomach.
Both models utilize Bluetooth 5.0 and include necessary adapters. The Jabra Evolve2 comes with a Jabra Link 380c USB-C adapter included in the box for seamless plug-and-play connection, whereas the EPOS includes a USB-C to USB-A adapter, which may require a dongle depending on your laptop's port configuration.
The Jabra Evolve2 uses 10 built-in microphones to achieve 97% less background noise, offering a very broad net for filtering sound. The EPOS Impact 1060T relies on three digital beamforming mics powered by EPOS AI and BrainAdapt, focusing heavily on isolating the speaker's voice in a targeted way.
The Jabra supports a quick 15-minute charge for 8 hours of use via USB-C, and the EPOS includes a cable for charging, but neither specification sheet lists wireless charging functionality.
