If you want a lightweight, wired solution with superior frequency response for music and general clarity, choose Jabra Evolve 20; if you need certified Microsoft Teams integration, hybrid noise cancellation, and dual mute features for high-noise clinical environments, choose Yealink UH37. This comparison cuts through the noise to help you decide which headset fits your specific workflow, whether you are managing complex calls as a nurse or leading meetings from home.
• Jabra Evolve 20: Offers exceptional comfort with leather-feel cushions and a broad frequency range (20 Hz–7 kHz), but lacks active noise cancellation and is strictly monoaural.
• Yealink UH37: Delivers hybrid noise cancellation and Microsoft Teams certification with a flip-to-mute microphone, though it is slightly heavier and uses on-ear placement.
• Best for Nurses: The Yealink UH37 is the stronger contender for clinical settings where background noise must be suppressed and quick muting is essential.
• Best for General Office: The Jabra Evolve 20 suits users who prioritize long-term comfort and versatile audio quality over specialized UC platform certification.
The Jabra Evolve 20 is designed with a distinct focus on all-day wearability and straightforward connectivity. Its defining feature is the around-the-ear design paired with leather-feel ear cushions, which suggests a build intended to minimize pressure points during extended shifts. For professionals who spend hours in front of a screen without moving much, this physical comfort factor is often the deciding element. The headset utilizes a mono configuration, meaning it delivers sound to a single ear, leaving the other open for ambient awareness—a practical choice for those who need to hear their surroundings while taking calls.
Connectivity is handled via a flexible approach that supports both USB-C and traditional 3.5 mm jack inputs. This versatility ensures compatibility across a wide range of devices, from modern laptops to older desktop setups. The unit plugs and plays immediately, requiring no driver installation, which saves valuable setup time when jumping between workstations. While the audio frequency range extends up to 7 kHz, providing clear voice reproduction for business calls, it relies on passive noise cancellation rather than active electronics to block out distractions.

This headset is ideal for nurses or administrative staff who need a reliable, lightweight tool that doesn't require complex configuration. However, if your environment is notoriously loud—such as a busy hospital ward or an open-plan office with constant chatter—you might find the passive isolation insufficient. The lack of active noise cancellation means you will still hear background hums and conversations, so this pick is best for those who can tolerate ambient noise or prefer to keep one ear open to the room.
The Yealink UH37 takes a different approach, prioritizing professional certification and advanced acoustic management. As a Microsoft Teams Certified device, it is engineered specifically to deliver crystal-clear communication on that platform, ensuring that your voice cuts through without background interruptions. This makes it particularly relevant for teams heavily invested in the Microsoft ecosystem, where seamless integration is non-negotiable. The headset features dual microphones with noise-cancelling technology, actively working to filter out surrounding sounds so that only your voice is transmitted clearly.
Comfort is addressed through a combination of breathable leather ear cups and a soft triangular cushion, supported by a durable metal headband. While the design places the earcup directly on the ear rather than around it, the materials are selected to ensure skin-friendly contact for long periods. A standout feature for anyone needing instant privacy is the dual mute capability: you can control volume and mute calls via buttons on the earcup, or simply flip the microphone boom up to silence the line instantly. This mechanical flip-mute is a robust, fail-safe method for moments when you need to step away from a call without navigating software menus.
For nurses, this headset aligns perfectly with the need for bone conduction headphones for nurses in noisy environments, offering hybrid noise cancellation that actively dampens the chaos of a hospital corridor. The inclusion of a carry bag in the package also suggests portability is a key consideration, allowing staff to move equipment between departments easily. However, the added complexity of hybrid noise cancellation and the metal construction make it slightly heavier than the Jabra option. If you are looking for the best volume limiting ear clip headphones for nurses or similar roles where audio clarity and noise suppression are critical, the Yealink offers a more robust technical solution.
• Best for Battery Life: Both units are wired, so neither relies on battery charge time for operation, though the Jabra lists a 12-hour average life specification likely referring to its internal components or associated accessories, while the Yealink focuses on wired reliability.
• Best for Noise Cancellation: The Yealink UH37 wins hands down with Hybrid Noise Cancellation and dual microphones, whereas the Jabra Evolve 20 relies solely on passive isolation.
• Best for Platform Certification: If your organization runs on Microsoft Teams, the Yealink UH37 is the logical choice due to its official certification, while the Jabra works broadly with UC platforms but lacks specific Teams optimization.
• Best for Comfort Design: The Jabra Evolve 20 features an over-the-head, around-the-ear design with leather-feel cushions, which many find superior for reducing clamping force compared to the on-ear design of the Yealink.
• Best for Microphone Control: The Yealink UH37 offers a flip-to-mute mechanism and dedicated buttons, providing faster, more tactile control than the remote controller on the Jabra.
• Best for Audio Fidelity: The Yealink UH37 boasts a wider frequency range (20 Hz–20,000 Hz) compared to the Jabra's 20 Hz–7 kHz, making it better for both voice and higher-fidelity music playback.
• Best for Weight: The Jabra Evolve 20 is lighter at 4.96 ounces compared to the Yealink's 96.5 grams (approx. 3.4 ounces), making it less burdensome for very long shifts.
• Best for Connectivity Flexibility: Both support USB-C, but the Jabra explicitly highlights the 3.5 mm jack as a primary flexible connectivity option alongside USB.
In my opinion, for nurses specifically, the Yealink UH37 is the superior choice. The ability to use hybrid noise cancellation and the flip-to-mute microphone provides a level of control and clarity that is indispensable in a clinical setting where every second counts and background noise is constant. While the Jabra Evolve 20 is a comfortable and reliable device, the Yealink's dedicated Teams certification and active noise management address the specific pain points of healthcare workers better. I would buy the Yealink UH37 because its design prioritizes the user's ability to communicate clearly amidst chaos, which is the most critical function for a nurse.
Yes, both are wired options, but the Yealink UH37 is better suited for noisy hospitals due to its hybrid noise cancellation and dual microphones, which actively filter out background interference.
Both headsets work with major UC platforms; however, the Yealink UH37 is officially Microsoft Teams Certified, while the Jabra Evolve 20 is certified for Skype for Business and Cisco.
The Jabra Evolve 20 is slightly heavier at 4.96 ounces but features an over-the-head design, whereas the Yealink UH37 is lighter at 96.5 grams and uses an on-ear design with a metal headband.
Yes, both offer manual controls; the Yealink UH37 adds a convenient flip-to-mute microphone and on-ear buttons, while the Jabra Evolve 20 uses a dedicated call control unit.
