Providing your staff with optimised and trusted devices that work seamlessly with your UC platform is key to productivity, audio quality and having fewer IT issues. Jabra has tested devices with a long list of platforms and offers Microsoft Teams certified variants from our wide range of headsets and speakerphones.

On one Jabra 65 the audio output occasionally refuses to play through the headset, despite the correct audio output device selected in Windows (Win. 10 Pro). We have a few of these in our office and this is the only one that has this issue 2+ times a month. Changing the output device to the built in speaker and back to the headset doesn't work. Turning the headset off and on doesn't work. Switching output devices, and back to the headset, then resetting the computer almost always works. The computer is a refurb Optiplex 7040, that seems to work great, if it matters. Supposedly all the drivers and headset firmware is up to date. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I have a few users who is complaining about their headsets/docks (Jabra Engage 75) completely restarting whenever they recieve a call, there seem to be no settings any different from my own well functioning headset of same model. Have anyone else run into this issue?

The Jabra Evolve 40 UC Stereo is a professional headset designed to help you focus and increase productivity while offering amazing sound for calls and music. Evolve 40 USB Dual Ear Headset for Microsoft Teams is also approved for the GSA Schedule for Government entities to use.

For three months, I have waited for the Jabra Evolve2 85 to show up. During the Corona crisis, I needed a new headset to filter out all the noise my kids make at home, so that I could 100% focus on my work. A colleague told me about this headset. When I ordered it, it was not even out yet but was soon to be released. Eventually, this became a bit longer than expected, but I am not blaming Jabra for this.

Just got a notification that there is an update for the headset, but at the moment cannot get the installer to work. The firmware is not yet available on the support page. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

My headset is now running on 1.0.27. Did it fix anything? On the microphone side, it seems it did not. Tested the headset in a couple of calls today, and quality is still bad my colleagues say. They also mentioned that some of my words are repeated from time to time, like an echo on the line. I have not yet been able to record it, but when I switch to any of my other headsets, this does not occur. At the moment, I am disappointed with the headset.

So we are doing more and more virtual meetings and we needed to improve our audio quality when people join meetings with Teams, Skype, Zoom and anything else. We found that the Hardware Audio Canceling just doesn't work when connected to our Horizon VDI Clients. Echo is awful. When the you connect to these meetings from the physical computer\thin client, they sound fine using the built in speaker and Mic. So as a work around we started handing out Jabra Engage 65 headsets to combat the Audio feedback.

My question to the community is how are you deploying the software that goes with these headset. For instance Jabra Express in this case. I was installing them on the Thin Client (TC), but then the software doesn't recognize that Teams and other meeting software are installed. I tried Installing the software on the Thin Client but that requires USB redirection in the Horizon Client to work. The headset is found but sometimes the Headset isn't discovered by windows and the meeting software as an audio device. Though Jabra Express sees the headset and can apply firmware updates and configuration changes.

The other issue we run into is that we want day to day computer notifications to go through the PC speakers but communication software apps to go through the headset. I am finding it's usually one or the other and has to be defaulted on the TC side. The promise of VDI simplifying our environment is falling flat new with the requirement of enhanced Audio and Video capabilities. Are others having this issue too? What is the best configuration for this new modern remote workforce and conferencing tools?

1 and 2: RTAV seems to work the best in combination with the Skype Media Optimization Pack. However, it appears the Teams optimization Pack is still in closed beta. This is part of my frustration because the call control buttons that are built into the Jabra 75 headset don't seem to work with Teams yet. Perhaps that will come when the solution is released to the public? I believe these functions are processed with the Jabra Direct Software which comes back to my original question, if we don't use USB Redirection, how is Horizon and Jabra going to work together to give users the best experience on par with Physical Machines? (This would also include Plantronics). It would be nice for VMware to do a full blog post or something on this subject with the current WFH mandates put on companies. Even Team up with Jabra or Plantronics on the topic.

I am using a Jabra Link 370 Bluetooth adapter with a Jabra Elite 75t earbuds. Up until a few weeks ago, tapping the left earbud muted not just the headset, but toggled mute within Zoom itself. After a Zoom upgrade and an upgrade to the Jabra Direct software, it has stopped working consistently. That is, most of the time it does NOT sync the button action. Note that the syncing of button action is working in Skype for Business and MS Teams.

Pointing out that you have removed support for headsets that worked before is not a solution to the problem, but rather an excuse not to look into the issue. That is akin to telling me that I should start using MS Teams instead of Zoom.

@toddinpal The older software versions were from a year ago. I'm currently running 6.8.13001 also. I still run into this problem very intermittently. When I do, I shut down Zoom and relaunch it, then it seems to work again. Note that there is a setting in the Jabra Direct Settings under Softphone Integration that I think needs to be enabled for the mute function to by synchronized between the Jabra base/headset and Zoom (see screenshot). I took a quick scan through the Zoom settings, but don't see anything similar that needs to be set there.

I am having a strange issue with my Jabra evolve 65 headset. The volume stays low unless I go to settings and leave the Sound settings open. If I minimize the sound settings window then the volume drops again until I bring the settings up again.

All enhancements are disabled for the headset. It is a very strange thing-why does opening the settings screen increase my volume? I can leave the sound screen in the background, just not minimized and I don't have to make any changes.

Office headsets are designed to address a specific need: They allow you to take or make calls from a computer or mobile device while hearing and being heard over the distracting noise that surrounds you.

The Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex is easy to connect wirelessly to a computer or phone, and it offers the best range of the headsets we recommend. It should make you sound great, too: It uses six microphones to offer better vocal clarity than what you can get from most of the models we tested.

If you prefer the old-school look or want the portability of a tiny Bluetooth headset, go with the Poly Voyager 5200 UC. In our tests with almost deafening coffee-shop chatter in the background, the Voyager 5200 UC made us sound as if we were calling from a sound booth.

In exchange for that superior voice isolation, however, the Voyager 5200 UC sacrifices natural vocal warmth and smoothness. We sounded more robotic with this headset in comparison with half of the other headsets we tested.

To get help in devising our criteria for evaluating office headsets, we consulted nine professionals from different industries who used headsets all day, every day, for meetings and communication with their teams, customers, and potential clients.

To evaluate the mic quality of the headsets, we asked a dozen people to review our contenders and compare their performance over both phone calls and video conferences. For previous versions of this guide, we also enlisted expert panelists, including Wirecutter senior staff writer Lauren Dragan (who has tested more than 1,000 headphones) and Grammy-winning music producer and audio engineer Charles A. Martinez.

An office headset is the ideal choice for anyone who spends a large part of the workday tethered to devices for phone and video calls. With their boom microphones, which sit close to your mouth, these headsets are designed to capture exceptionally clear dialogue. And with their long cords or Bluetooth wireless connections, they allow you to get up and move around as you converse. 006ab0faaa
