Educator resources

As you prepare for your visit, JA Staff will be supporting you with resources and guidance to help you with the planning process. Be on the lookout for our email communications leading up to your visit. Below is a step by step process to help you prepare.

Complete teacher training.
Students complete the pre-survey.
Implement the 12 required lessons. It is recommended to time the program implementation closely with your visit if possible.
Confirm transportation has been reserved.
Complete the Storefront Job Assignments. Students will each be assigned a job during their visit. Please work with the other teachers attending on your simulation date to place students in jobs that would interest them.
Send home permission slips AND the volunteer handout.
At BizTown, one student has the distinct honor of serving as the Governor! Please select that student.
Confirm your visit information with Tori Stephens. Please let us know if anything about your visit changes.
Visit day! Once you arrive, JA Staff will greet you and take it from there.
Debrief Lesson
Students complete the Post-Survey and teachers complete the educator verification survey. This not only helps with impact data, but your feedback helps us improve.

Need to know information about your visit

Please be sure to bring school-provided lunch for students.
Please plan to bring 3+ teachers or school staff on this visit.
If there is a closure or a 1+ hour delay due to inclement weather, we will need to reschedule your visit. For a 1 hour delay, please notify Tori Stephens (tori.stephens@ja.org) immediately to determine if you still plan to visit.
