About Me

Jaber Daneshamooz is the founder of NetSplit, a startup focused on intelligent internet management for shared and resource-constrained environments. NetSplit combines system design, networking, and agentic AI to monitor, optimize, and adapt network behavior in real time, improving bandwidth utilization, reducing latency, and ensuring fair access across users and applications.

He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, working in the Systems and Networking Lab under supervision of professor Arpit Gupta. His research focuses on applying machine learning and agentic AI to networking, with an emphasis on performance, fairness, security and reliability. He has experience designing systems such as netReplica and netGent that enable practical AI for networking. These systems make it possible to reproduce realistic and challenging network conditions for evaluation and dataset generation, and to build scalable, intelligent solutions that translate advanced networking and AI techniques into deployable systems.

He has led research and engineering efforts and mentored students, driving projects from early ideas to practical, working systems.

Outside of his research and startup work, he spends time surfing 🏄. “Surfing feels a lot like networking—reading waves, timing entry, and sharing limited space; when the lineup is fair and uncongested, everyone gets a better ride, much like at a bottleneck link in networking.”
