About
I am a research trainee in the Department of Biostatistics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, under the mentorship of Prof. Peng Wei. My training focuses on the development of statistical methods and analytical strategies for large-scale genomic and genetic data, with applications to complex diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.
My goal is to integrate my quantitative background with a strong commitment to biomedical research that advances human welfare. Trained in economics, statistics, and biostatistics, I aim to address complex medical challenges, ranging from understanding brain function and mental health to investigating chronic and life-threatening diseases. My experience includes supporting children with autism and intellectual disabilities in Korea, developing digital healthcare tools for depression, conducting neuroimaging research on Alzheimer’s disease at the University of Washington, and studying health outcomes at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Currently, at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I focus on genomics and cancer research, driven by the aspiration to develop meaningful solutions for individuals facing some of life’s most significant health challenges.
