A colloid is a mixture in which one substance is dispersed evenly in another substance. The components of a colloid consist of two phases, a dispersed phase and a dispersion medium. The dispersed phase and dispersion medium do not separate over time and particles in the dispersed phase are larger than those found in a solution but smaller than those in a suspension.
There are many types of colloid which are;
Solid dispersed in gas (Aerosol)
Liquid dispersed in gas (Liquid Aerosol)
Liquid dispersed in solid (Gel)
Gas dispersed in liquid (Foam)
There are many applications of colloid that have been used in our daily life such as;
Whipped cream
