Welcome to Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab
Our research focuses on a number of overlapping questions about the neural mechanisms of social motivation, decision-making, attitudes, and behavior. Specifically, our research focuses on four main topics: 1) social decision-making (including neuroeconomics and neuromarketing), 2) social and cognitive influences on attitudes (such as social conformity and cognitive dissonance), 3) prejudice and stereotypes, and 4) the self (such as self-concept and self-esteem). We primarily utilize functional neuroimaging methods (fMRI) and cognitive/behavioral assessments to address these areas of inquiry.
