IYNS Group Of Institutions are Established Under IYNS Trust , which is Constituted by certain enthusiastic persons of the locality, marked its formal existence in the year 2005 with a view to cater to the increasing professional vocational needs of the budding generation of this region of the Country. The mission of the Society to impart quality education to the youths of the north East. Receiving encouraging responses from students and their guardians through a few vocational programmers, the NGO marched forward to establish in 2013 a full-fledged Institute of Yoga & Nutrition Sciences (IYNS) The IYNS is marked as the pioneer institutes of the kind in the region. The society is looking forward for new avenues to fulfill its academic zeal and to provide our youth community with a brighter tomorrow and planning to establish the Yoga and Naturopathy IPD, OPD and introduce New Challenging Courses For better skills training. We are on the threshold of yet another milestone in the progress of IYNS. The Institute of Yoga & Nutrition Sciences (IYNS) has been established under the Faculty of Vocational Health Sciences – DGET, SCVT and Jawaharlal Nehru National Youth Centre –Council of Education and Training and Rehabilitation Council of India.
To start with Institute of Yoga and Nutrition Sciences Trust, by its mission “with a solution for a brighter tomorrow” and since providing quality education to the youth of north east in the field of Yoga, Naturopathy, Paramedical and Rehabilitation. Under the aegis of the Faculty of Health Sciences, The Institute of Yoga & Nutrition Sciences has been conducting programmers in various fields of health care delivery systems over the years and has earned an enviable name as a training institute of impeccable excellence. We have now been permitted by the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET) and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) under Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt.of India, Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), Quality Council of India (QCI) for Yoga, Naturopathy and Rehabilitation programmers. Yoga and Rehabilitation professionals today have unlimited opportunities in the hospitals, communities, research and health development programmers in the country as well as overseas. Getting boosted up by the success of different skill development training programme since 2005, the social welfare institution established the institution in 2003 a full-fledged Yoga and Naturopathy Institution namely “Institute of Yoga and Nutrition Sciences”.

The Institute of Yoga and Nutrition Sciences (IYNS) is an affiliated and Recognized Institution under the Ministry of Skill Development and Enterprenureship,Ministry of AYUSH, Rehabilitation Council of India, JNNYC-CET,Department of Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Assam, Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI) , State Nursing Council and UGC Recognized Universities.
The Institute was established in 2005 at Guwahati to conduct and coordinate skill development training,research, professional training in the field of Yoga,Naturopathy,Physiotherapy and services that lead to successful rehabilitation of persons with hearing and communication disabilities. The major activities are manpower development, research, rehabilitation service, material development and information , documentation and offering best services to the society.
The Head Office of the Institute is located at Athgaon,S.J.Road,Guwahati,Assam, with different resource and collaborative centres in North East and India.
IYNS, H.O. Guwahati, and its other Centers are well equipped with laboratories as specified by JNNYC-CET , SCVT , PCI , INC and RCI. It has a number of clinics, manned by a well-qualified faculty and other professionals, to meet the needs of its training programmes and other activities.

The North East region has been lagging behind in educational facilities in comparison to other states of our country. The students of the North East region have to go outside after their secondary, senior secondary for higher studies. The number of institutions in comparison to number of students is very less. To start with the mission with a solution for a brighter tomorrow ,it has been imparting quality education to the youths of the north east to build career in the field of Paramedical,AYUSH,Fitness and Rehabilitation and other courses in the North East region
Down the line the society is of the view to provide the best facilities to the student who is opting to go outside the region to peruse higher studies. To start with the society has decided to set up B.Voc, Programme and BNYS College in the state of Assam. With these colleges, IYNS has been striving for and growing to newer heights of performance and outreach for the welfare
The goals of IYNS Group of Institutions are:
1. Provide access to Professional and quality education to unemployed youth, youngsters of North East region through Vocational and Skill up gradation training for independent livelihood.
2. To build Confidence and positive self-concept and healthy attitude to face challenges of life.
3. Enhance purposeful education with human values and social responsibilities.
4. Achieve excellence in academic discipline, research and extension activities through emphasis on quality in every activity.
5. To provide opportunity to achieve Goal of Life
Faculty: IYNS, in keeping with its stature as an Institute, invites renowned scholars from India and abroad to interact with the students. It tries to create awareness amongst students about the latest techniques and technology in their chosen field of specialization. Internet facility is available in the Institute’s Library.
Attendance: Students are expected to be regular and punctual. In case the attendance of a student falls below the percentage required by the concerned university/R.C.I. Guidelines the student may not be allowed to appear for the final examination.
Student Counseling: A senior faculty member is appointed as Student Welfare Officer for all issues ranging from personal to professional. A Course-coordinator is appointed at the level of Head of Department to monitor the progress of students of each course. Faculty members are also appointed as tutors for all courses.
Sports and Cultural activities: Students are encouraged to participate in indoor / outdoor sports and cultural programmes held in the Institute as part of the Annual Day Celebrations and other important events.
Canteen Facilities: Canteen facilities are available in accordance with the requirements of the centers. Students can avail the facility on direct payment to the canteen management.
Hostel Rules and Regulations: The IYNS H.O has separate hostel accommodation for men and women students within Guwahati. The hostel accommodation is provided on first come first basis and is subject to availability
MEDICAL FACILITIES: As applicable/available for emergency treatment and the cost of the Hospitalization /Medicine will be borne by the student.
Discipline: Discipline has to be maintained by the students in class rooms, clinics and hostel. The institute is “NO TOBACCO ZONE “Smoking and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the Institute premises and hostel. Complaints are viewed seriously and action, as deemed fit, is initiated by the competent authority. Smoking or chewing of Tobacco in the Institute premises will attract a fine of Rs. 500/- and also liable for disciplinary action.
Placement Cell: Though it is not the responsibility of the Institute to provide jobs to students, the Institute has a Placement cell that attempts to bring together students who are in the process of completing their studies. Students may find it helpful to enroll themselves with the Placement Cell.
Student Feedback: Student feedback with reference to the courses, faculty and facilities is obtained annually. As confidentiality is ensured the feedback is unbiased and this enables actions for improvement
Trainees are allowed the same holidays as fixed by Central Government for its staff.
Casual leave: In addition to usual holidays, trainees are admissible to avail Casual leave @ 8 days per year.
Medical Leave: medical leave up to 15 days subject to production of medical Certificate from a Medical officer may be granted.
Special leave: Special leave up to 10 days on private affairs may be allowed only in extraordinary cases where head of Institute is satisfied that the requirement is genuine.
Unauthorized Absence: For Unauthorized Absence up to 10 consecutive days at a time, trainees is issued a written warning for first occasion followed by Penalty and if the offense is repeated trainees will be discharged form rolls.
