International Workshop on Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing

4 & 5 , September 2019

organized by

Department of Mathematics

The Gandhigram Rural Institute

(Deemed to be University)

Gandhigram - 624302, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, India

About the University

Gandhigram founded in 1947 by the visionary disciples of Mahatma Gandhiji, Dr.T.S.Soundaram and Dr.G.Ramachandran, has emerged as an abode of many rural reconstruction activities. Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI) started with the aim of providing higher education to rural populace has become the pioneering model in implementing the three pronged approach of education viz., Teaching, Research and Extension. The achievements of GRI in the last five decades has lead to the conferment of Deemed University status by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi in 1976, accreditation with FIVE STAR status by NAAC in the year 2002 and Re-accreditation with ‘A’ Grade in the year 2010 and 2016. The Institute is situated in the cradle with Sirumalai Hills and Kodai Hills on the either side, it has created a niche in the educational map of India by offering unique academic programmes through its seven faculties and lures students not only from within India but also from abroad.

About the Department

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1965 at The Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Tamil Nadu. To compete with international standards, research on stability problems on Dynamical systems including neural networks and intelligent systems, Fractal theory and its applications, Fuzzy clustering in medical images, optimization in marketing related problems, control theory, graph theory, Algebraic graph theory are being carried out and the results are published as articles in the SCI Scopus journals. Funding for research and development is provided by UGC, NBHM, CSIR, and DST-SERB continuously for the past 15 years to the faculty members. As a result of consistent performance in research, the department is recently upgraded with UGC-SAP (DSA-I) and DST-FIST (level-II). Department also receives library grant from NBHM and equipped with research books and journals.

About the Workshop

IWMMSC - 2019 is to serve as an ideal platform for academicians, researchers, engineers and scientists to exchange their expertise in the field of Mathematical Modelling and Soft Computing. The workshop is expected to help the researchers to update themselves about the current trend of their research field through resource persons. Workshop covers the special talks on the following topics:

Mathematical Modelling for Stabilization and control theory

Non-traditional computing techniques for

(i) Image Processing

(ii) Artificial Intelligence

(iii) Deep Learning Neural Networks
